The Indian Premier League ( IPL) in India is a Twenty 20 cricket league that eight teams representing eight different cities in India compete every year between March or April and May. The league was founded in 2008 by the Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI). In the ICC Future Tours plan, the IPL has a special slot. Tournament format At present, with eight teams, every team in the league process plays twice each other in a home-and-out round-robin style. The top four teams will qualify for the playoff at the end of the league level.
