Chennai Super Kings is a cricket franchise in the Indian Premier League. The team, which is commonly referred to as CSK, was founded by India Cements in 2008. It was one of India's most dominant teams.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni leads the team and has always reached the playoffs except during 2016 and 2017. Chennai Super Kings has so far won 3 IPL titles and been Runners Up 4 times.
Chennai Super Kings do not have a pool of game-winners, but they are still one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League. This is made possible because the list of CSK players consists of a large number of consistent players, led by one of the best captains, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.  2013: With another trip to the final, the CSK was stopped this time by the Mumbai Indians who claimed their first IPL title.

 2014: After a long period, the Chennai Super Kings were unable to reach the finals but had a fantastic season in the CLT20.

 2015: Yet again, the Chennai Super Kings have missed a final to the Indians of Mumbai.

 2018: The team returned to the league and captured their third IPL championship.

 2019: Chennai Super Kings made it to the finals but struggled to earn their fourth title.

The 2008 season of the Indian Premier League marked the beginning of the Indian Premier League which was set up by the BCCI in 2007. The season began with the final match of 1 June 2008 on 18 April 2008.
